A haunting, high-contrast BZV header image showing two Ukrainian children—an older sister and her small brother—huddled together for warmth in a dark, freezing concrete bunker. They are draped in a blue and yellow Ukrainian flag, the edge of which is singed by a small survival fire. On the opposite side of the flames, a Russian flag lies tattered and burning, symbolizing the scorched-earth reality of the 1,432-day conflict.

Ukraine & Russian conflict… 1,432 days later

I started this series 302 days after the Russian Federation military crossed into Ukraine, and today, as we approach the fourth anniversary, the conflict remains with no end in sight. It is a horrific, ongoing war that so many have already forgotten or care nothing about — choosing to ignore as the relentless 24-hour news cycle numbs our humanity.

A Protracted Conflict of a War Already Lost

I've said it before and I'll repeat it again: Russia lost this war days into the conflict. The stubbornness and the end of this senseless bloodshed continue to hinge on the decision of one man — the one who authorized military action against its neighbor. One country crossed their border, not the other way around. I've written it in my previous articles in this series: even if Russia "wins" territorially, they have already lost the world.

While the throve of misinformed continue to loudly blame the victims, anybody with any functional level of empathy and common sense would have realized the obvious. If Ukrainians wanted to be part of Russia, they would not be fighting against them for 3 years, 11 months, and 2 days.

As we approach the fourth anniversary of this conflict, it is worth understanding the lessons learned. From now on, I'll be writing this series under BeeZee Vision (BZV), but the entire series remains available on my Half Life Crisis™ website. If you have not been following, this series gives you a lot more context than what your favorite talking heads parrot about:

The Human Factor: The Theft of Time

For a moment, just remember how many happy moments and joyous celebrations you had in the last four years. Think of the goals and achievements you were able to accomplish, all the nights you could rest knowing that you won't be woken up by a military strike threatening to kill or destroy everything you've ever loved. Look around your place — everything you own you cherish, including those loved ones. Their future is not threatened with certain violence.

Now imagine, overnight, everything you've ever loved and taken for granted being destroyed and the nightmare continues year after year. Your infant child, if it survived, is now four years old. If you were 16 then, you're an adult now. Imagine if years in your childhood were robbed by violent adversarial military action and seeing body parts of your loved ones become a macabrely normalized reality. Even if that conflict stops now — the horror will haunt you for the rest of your days.

And here is the kicker: many of those who are suffering were convinced that it was preposterous that their lives would have such a violent turn until February 23, 2022. It takes a superlative sense of apathy to ignore it, and an unforgivable level of cruelty to further dehumanize the victims of a conflict that should have never started. Given the geopolitical tensions in the world right now — our 23rd of February 2022 — the last day before a nightmare of beylic conflict might be approaching sooner than we think.

A Summary of Events Since My Last Update

Right after I published my last article, the notorious meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump at the White House in early 2025 set the standard. It confirmed exactly what I predicted: a tacit-at-first and now very overt advocacy by the incumbent US Administration for Ukraine to capitulate.

The entire right-wing has echoed the Kremlin talking points — whether wittingly or unwittingly — consuming siloed information while the rest of the world tracks a horrific conflict that so many Americans feel "bored" even thinking about. When was the last time you saw a headline about the ongoing Ukraine war? Reports exist, but they are buried while clickbait monetizes your attention elsewhere. Meanwhile, children grow up in war zones because someone outside their borders decided to violently take over their homeland.

    • 24 Feb 2025: The Oval Office "Outfit" Confrontation On the third anniversary of the invasion, Zelenskyy arrived at the White House in his signature tactical gear. Trump’s entourage and media surrogates (notably Brian Glenn) openly criticized the attire as "disrespectful," with Trump reportedly "offended" that Zelenskyy wouldn't wear a suit. Trump pushed for capitulation, telling him, "You don't hold the cards." This hostile event was like a mob-ambush that ignored the nonstop suffering of the Ukrainian people. It shifted the narrative from military survival to a demand for "aesthetic submission."

    • 01 Mar 2025: The European Contrast (Brussels/Paris) Days later, Zelenskyy traveled to Europe wearing the exact same outfit. He was met with standing ovations in the European Parliament. He wears it as a sign of support to his people; Europe celebrated it as a symbol of resilience. This created the first major "Atlantic Rift," where Europe realized they were now alone in the moral defense of sovereignty.

    • 08 May 2025: The "Victory Day" Farce Russia declared a 72-hour ceasefire for WWII Victory Day. Within the first 12 hours, 734 violations were documented. This was the first blow to Trump's mediation claims; Russia used the "pause" solely to regroup for a fresh offensive in the Donbas.

    • 15 Aug 2025: The Alaska Summit (Helsinki 2.0) Trump and Putin met at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage. Much like the 2018 Helsinki meeting, they had private, uncontrolled conversations. Unsurprisingly, Trump’s rhetoric became even more aggressive against Ukraine and NATO immediately after. The "Anchorage Formula" was born — a framework where Ukraine would withdraw from Donbas in exchange for a freeze. Russia has since used this to claim the U.S. already "agreed" to hand over Ukrainian land.

    • 15 Dec 2025: Sinking of the Varshavyanka (Kilo-class Submarine) Ukraine used an autonomous "Sub Sea Baby" drone to strike a $400M Improved Kilo-class submarine at its pier in Novorossiysk. Ukraine, a country with no Navy, has now destroyed 28 Russian ships and 2 submarines, proving Russia's conventional naval power is "operationally non-deployable" against low-cost tech.

    • 05 Jan 2026: The "Election Legitimacy" Weaponization Russian propaganda, echoed by U.S. politicians, began labeling Zelenskyy an "illegitimate dictator" for not holding elections. This ignores the Ukrainian Constitution (Art. 83) which forbids elections during martial law. It’s a strategic attempt to delegitimize the government while 6 million refugees are displaced.

    • 23-24 Jan 2026: The Abu Dhabi Ambush & Betrayal As US-brokered talks concluded in Abu Dhabi, Russia launched 396 drones and 21 missiles at the energy grid. Over 1.2 million Ukrainians are currently without power in freezing temperatures. Putin ordered these strikes while the delegations were at the table. His missiles didn't just hit civilians; they essentially hit the negotiation table. It proves Putin has zero respect for the U.S. administration's "peace process" - certainly zero respect for Trump.

    Precursors to a Global War

Ukraine is the rapidly eroding dam holding back the stability we take for granted. While we’re baking a pie, or watching a ball game, or a movie, or doing whatever we do today, that dam is cracking. The only thing that saved them was the well-documented incompetence of the Russian military — evident by the fact they have more flag-officers killed in the front lines than any other army in history among many other demonstrable indicators.

    The Indicators of Decay:

    • The "Human Safari": The UN has documented Russian drone pilots in Kherson who hunt individual civilians — pedestrians and cyclists — for sport. This is systematic, intentional dehumanizing murder, akin to what it is getting normalized abroad and even in American streets.
    • Internal Security Spending: Putin’s 2026 budget slashed social programs to spend 38% of all federal funds on the military and "Internal Security" (Police) to crush his own people.
    • The North Korean Factor: Russia is so desperate for conscripts they are using North Korean troops as cannon fodder, only to see them slaughtered on the front lines.

Yet, Putin was invited as an "emissary of peace" by an administration led by a man that repeatedly claimed the war could be solved in "24 hours" — only for Trump to later admit he was "being sarcastic." Hardly a flex for a statesman. Trump's alignment with Kremlin goals is plunging the USA into a conflict against NATO, marking the Kremlin's crowning achievement since 1949. And it is worth reiterating, Putin does not respect Trump - despite him achieving all his doctrines. Let that sink in, that is not anti-administration, I wish the facts were different.

    The Lose-Lose Reality

Winning by cheating is losing. Those who accrue power by force are never happy; they only feel good when someone they deem inferior is suffering. But those they deem inferior are superior because they don’t need someone else’s pain to feel whole.

Until February 23, 2022, people thought it was preposterous that the Russian military would roll into Eastern Ukraine. Almost 4 years later, we know better. I invite you to be grateful for the rapidly eroding freedom we take for granted — but don't dare squander it.  The Ukrainian suffering should be at the very least a wakeup call. The storm is coming for all of us whether we are ready or not. Like it or not, geopolitics will save your life — hopefully through prevention.  That is why I write these articles for you. BZV
